After 50 is a great time to reinvent yourself, whether it's your activities, political party, wardrobe or hairstyle/color. Your decades-long, signature pageboy can become an edgy bob. Or, like a couple of my friends, you can rock your natural silvery white. So why not try something totally new? You have nothing to lose, and you might be surprised how much more vibrant you look (and feel) when you do it!

I used to be a dark brunette, but when my hair started turning gray in my 40s, I discovered the sky was the limit, decided to branch out, and became a brilliant red head. After eight years (and at least two people a week stopping me on the street to compliment my color), I got the itch again after purchasing a Raquel Welch wig in a highlighted blonde. And so I actually went to a highlighted blonde in my signature short bob hairstyle (see below).
Nice, right? But after a few years, just a tad boring.

Enter change, again. And, again, it started with my new pixie wig: Advanced French by Raquel Welch, in her newest color, Shaded Platinum. No one (and I mean, no one) guessed it was a wig, and everyone (I mean, everyone) loves the color. My husband also loves it, and it turns heads where ever I go! So last week I went to my hairstylist, had him cut my boring bob into an easy-to-style-myself pixie, and colored it platinum with dark roots.
Yes, young celebs like Kristen Stewart and Katy Perry are rocking this look, but so am I (and I'm way older than you think)! So stop playing it safe. Life's too short to not try something you've never done before.
